UPDATE: Wanted man spotted on bus after fleeing court custody

UPDATE Thursday, 8 June:

Police have intensified their search for wanted man Nec Gorman after he was seen getting off a bus in Denman Prospect half an hour after he escaped police custody.

The 25-year-old had just been sentenced in the Supreme Court when he fled on Monday (5 June) afternoon at about 4 pm.

He was next seen departing a bus at about 4:30 pm the same day in the area of John Gorton Drive.

It’s believed he lost his shoes as he ran from the courthouse.

Police believe Nec may have spoken with members of the public while in Denman Prospect, and would like to speak with anyone who interacted with him that afternoon or since.

People are being reminded not to approach him but to call ACT Policing Operations on 131 444 to report any information about his whereabouts. Quote reference 7449627.

Tuesday, 6 June: Police are searching for a 25-year-old man after he fled from custody at the ACT Supreme Court.

Nec Gorman was at the courthouse to be sentenced on Monday (5 June) afternoon when he escaped.

He was last seen running in the direction of The Canberra Theatre.

He’s described as being Caucasian in appearance with a slim build and short dark hair.

Gorman was wearing a grey polo shirt, grey jumper, grey tracksuit pants, socks and thongs.

People are being urged not to approach him but to contact ACT Policing Operations on 131 444 to report any information regarding his whereabouts. Quote reference 7449627.

If he was heading in the direction of the Canberra Theatre he is probably hiding in a rabbit burrow on City Hill.
