Experimental local super group Cracked Actor are having an EP Launch next Friday at O’Connor’s Polish Club in what is sure to be an intense experience.

BMA’s Sophia McDonald has gone so far as to give the album five stars:

With each spin the debut EP from locals Cracked Actor pours out my speakers too quickly. It’s the brilliant creation of Sebastian Field, Grahame Thompson, Nick Delatovic and Jordan Rodgers, and was mixed and engineered by Canberra’s Midas, Sam King. Comparable to big names like Radiohead and Portishead, the band’s ambient post-rock is diffused with experimental elements also cultivated by local acts Mornings and Spartak. Cracked Actor exude musical confidence and unique sensibilities. Solar Driftwood spells success.

Mmmmm Polish beer here I come.

Here’s a preview listen:

*asterix – i think the guitar skills of Canberra’s Matt Lustri’s may also deserve some credit…

The EP is a really excellent pieve of work – a real tapestry of sound and arrangement.

well executed – really great production, engineering and mastering.

Makes for an album that deserves several repeat listens and is a pleasure to have pop up in shuffle during the morning jog.

My 11 year old daughter took one look and said ‘shudder’.

Baycity rollers crossed with black flag and black sabath…. with a twist of *NSync.

Looks like we’ve got ourselves a boy band Canberra! (Note: they thankfully don’t sound like a boy band)
