Driver killed after two cars collide between Bungendore and Braidwood on Kings Highway

A driver has died after a two-vehicle crash on the Kings Highway between Bungendore and Braidwood.

Emergency services were called to a section of the road near the small town of Warri at about 5:30 pm on Thursday (7 November) following reports of an accident.

Officers attached to Monaro Police District attended and found a sedan and a utility had crashed.

The driver of one vehicle died at the scene, and another was found trapped in their vehicle before being rescued and taken to hospital.

Police have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash. A report will be prepared for the coroner.

A 25 km stretch of the Kings Highway was closed for several hours but is now open in both directions.
