A female pedestrian has died after being hit by a car while she was on the highway near Goulburn early on Thursday morning (14 November).
NSW Police said emergency services were called to the Hume Highway, near Sydney Road at Boxers Creek, at around 4 am over reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
Officers arrived and were told a woman had been on the road when she was hit by a four-wheel drive travelling in a northbound lane.
Paramedics treated the 32-year-old woman at the scene before she was taken to Goulburn Base Hospital, where she later died.
The driver of the four-wheel drive, a 63-year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
“Police established a crime scene, and an investigation has commenced with the assistance of specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit,” a police spokesperson said.
“A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.”
