UPDATE 3:45 pm: A NSW Police spokesperson said the driver of the car was airlifted to Canberra Hospital with serious head injuries. The Kings Highway has re-opened in both directions.
UPDATE 11:30 am: A NSW Police spokesperson said a crash between a truck and a car occurred at approximately 8:45 am this morning.
Emergency services are treating the driver of the car, who is aged in his 50s, for serious injuries at the scene. The 57-year-old male truck driver was uninjured.
The eastbound lanes of the Kings Highway are currently closed, with further information on closures available through LiveTraffic NSW.
10:20 am: A section of the Kings Highway has been closed in both directions following an incident between a truck and a car near Braidwood, between Cargills Lane and Northangera Road, on Tuesday morning (23 April).
Emergency services are attending the scene, including a helicopter, and it’s reported people are trapped.
Diversions have been in place since 8:45 am.
Those travelling in both directions are asked to use Little River Road and Northangera Road.
“This diversion is suitable for light vehicles only. Heavy vehicles are being parked,” according to LiveTraffic NSW.
People are asked to avoid the area and expect delays to their travel time.
