The political webmasters appear to have taken the grand final weekend off, but there’s still a bit of news trickling out.
—
Democrats:
The CT informs us that if elected to the Assembly Darren Churchill would like to do more for playing fields and some sort of motor sport facility.
—
Labor:
The CT is still carrying on as if the contamination of the Belconnen Naval Station is news. 10 years ago anyone who cared knew it was rife with PCBs. But there’s an election on so Jon Stanhope is suggesting that he’d quite like to buy up some of the land for a wilderness reserve to preserve the spotted newts and sun moths. On this issue the Greens would like to know if the deadly waste is on the move.
—
Greens:
Shane Rattenbury has told the CT he’d like to see a car sharing scheme a bit like a more flexible hire car industry. [Just an idea, somewhat on a tangent, but a Government website showing rides available in a car pooling scheme and keeping an index of reputation would be brave, but incredibly useful (also would drive the taxi industry round the twist – serves them right)]
—
Liberals:
The plum voiced Jeremy Hanson has shown the CT his war medals and given them a nice picture in uniform.
