LEGO fans of all ages have a reason to get excited this winter. On August 23 and 24, Canberra Brick Expo will return to the Hellenic Club Woden, along with the long-awaited appearance of ‘Elvis the Helicopter’.
The 100,000-piece LEGO model is a replica of the famous Elvis Skycrane, which helped to fight the 2003 Canberra Bushfires. Built by Australia’s only Certified LEGO Professional, Ryan McNaught, Elvis was on display in Townsville last year prior to its trip down to Canberra when it was almost destroyed by local youths. McNaught has spent the last year repairing Elvis and it will be on display at the Hellenic Club from August 17-24.
Brick Expo is now in its fifth year. It attracts LEGO enthusiasts from all over Australia who come to display their amazing LEGO creations. Proceeds from the Brick Expo go to support PaTCH Paediatrics at The Canberra Hospital, with close to $100,000 donated over the past five years.
Tickets are now on sale for Brick Expo. For more information, visit www.brickexpo.com.au.
