Struggling with hoarding behaviours? Woden Community Service is here to help. Photo: Unsplash.
Buried in Treasures is a free, 16-week program to support community members impacted by excessive acquiring or clutter.
Drawing from cognitive behavioural therapy techniques, this program helps participants build their understanding of what contributes to hoarding behaviours and provides strategies for positive change. The sessions are based on the book Buried in Treasures – Help for Compulsive Acquiring, Saving, and Hoarding by David Tolin, Randy O. Frost, and Gail Steketee.
While the program is free, we ask participants to contribute $35 to purchase the book, which is essential for the sessions. Payment plans and discounts are available for those facing financial hardship.
The next group starts in February 2025, join Woden Community Service for an information session on February 7.
