The award-winning FLIGHT: Drone SkyShow + Night Markets returns to Canberra on the Australia Day weekend for a series of shows to reflect, respect, and celebrate the ever-evolving story of our nation. Back for three unforgettable nights, Canberra’s skies will once again be transformed into a canvas of lights as 600 drones tell spellbinding stories across two shows.
FLIGHT promises an unforgettable evening for families, friends, and visitors, featuring new 3D designs, immersive music and themes. Recognising the depth and beauty of Indigenous heritage, the show will begin with a moving tribute to the land’s original custodians, featuring the totem Maliyan, a powerful symbol of leadership and renewal.
Each SkyShow – Through the Lens and Into the Mind, brings to life the pride, ingenuity and heart of Australia, honouring the past while lighting the way for future generations. This is a tribute to what makes Australia both familiar and extraordinary – our heritage, our people and our remarkable contributions to the world.
The vibrant Night Markets will also return and come alive in both event hubs from 5 pm each evening. Explore the bustling makers stalls and enjoy mouthwatering cuisines like Spanish Paella, Turkish Gozleme, African curries, Italian pizza and pasta, and so much more! Lion and Dragon performers, samba dancers and roaming magicians will keep the whole family entertained while you wait for the sun to go down for the drones to take flight.
Head to one of the two hubs at Commonwealth Place and Regatta Point to witness this 3D spectacle. FLIGHT: Drone SkyShow will be visible from other locations around the centre of Lake Burley Griffin. Whether you’re witnessing it for the first time or returning for more, prepare to be amazed as we elevate entertainment to new heights.
Thanks to the ACT Government, there will be free public transport from 5 pm and shuttle buses from the City and Woden interchanges from 7 pm.
