The University of Canberra (UC) and the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) have a lengthy and strong partnership around sport research.

Part of the UC Research Festival, Game Changers: Elevating Women’s Performance and Health in Sport is an opportunity to explore current collaborative research projects and hear from leading and up-and-coming UC researchers and experts from the AIS Female Performance & Health Initiative about the value of investing in research surrounding women in sport – and how the University of Canberra is levelling the playing field.

You will be up close and personal with former swimming Olympian and AIS Project Co-Lead for the AIS Female Performance and Health Initiative Dr Rachel Harris, and Dr Paula Charlton, Performance Support Networks Lead for AIS Performance.

Let’s change the narrative by empowering females in sport to understand their body and how physical activity may affect their performance and health.

There will also be a display from UC’s 10 industry co-funded PhD Women in Sport scholarship candidates for attendees to learn more about how UC PhD candidates are helping level the playing field for sport and exercise research with and for females.

This is a free event held by the University of Canberra as part of Research Festival 2024. Get involved and explore the full program on the website.
