Over six weekends in November and December, the HERE I AM: Art by Great Women festival at Kambri will present an exciting free program of films that profile and celebrate influential female artists, either through documentary or scripted narrative.
Finding Vivian Maier (2013), a documentary on the late Vivian Maier, will screen on 10 December.
Maier was a French-American woman who worked most of her life as a nanny whose previously unknown cache of 100,000 photographs earned her a posthumous reputation as one of the most accomplished street photographers. The film documents how Maloof discovered her work and, after her death, uncovered her life through interviews with people who knew her.
