International fashion giant H&M will launch its first Canberra store in the Canberra Centre later this year – although no exact date has yet been announced.
The iconic Swedish fashion brand has already started recruitment for the new store, advertising for department managers, visual merchandisers, a cash office organiser and sales advisors – both full-time, part-time and casual.
“We’re thrilled to welcome H&M to Canberra Centre, which will open later in 2017,” said Centre Manager of Canberra Centre, Amanda Paradiso.
“The arrival of this powerhouse international brand represents another chapter in the evolution of the Canberra Centre and the CBD – testimony to the Centre’s ability to attract globally recognised brands and new-to-market retailers.”
Ms Paradiso said the H&M store will be in the main fashion mall, opposite Saba and will go down to the ground floor.
“It’s going to be a huge store on two levels,” she said.
“The arrival of H&M further demonstrates our commitment to evolving Canberra Centre to ensure it continues to meet the needs of our vibrant community.”
H&M joins a range of other brands which have recently opened their first Canberra store at the Canberra Centre, including Mecca Maxima, Jurlique, Inglot, Perfect Potion, 3ina and Eden Laser Clinics.
H&M will be hosting Group Assessment Centres in Canberra from September 12-15 for applicants for the full-time positions of department managers, visual merchandisers and a cash office organiser. Click here for details.
H&M opened its first Australian store at Melbourne’s heritage GPO building in April 2014, with more than 3,000 people queuing down the steps and around the building to get a first glimpse of the flagship store.
Since then it has opened stores in a range of Australian cities and is increasing its presence in regional areas.
