Greens promising more money for the Human Rights Commission

The Greens have announced if they have their way they’ll spend more money on the Human Rights Commission:

The ACT Greens have announced that they will boost funding for the Human Rights Commission (HRC) by $633,000 over the next four years in order to assist with the increased demands of recent times and to prepare for the inclusion of the right to education into the ACT’s rights framework.

“The HRC are being stretched beyond capacity now, and with the inclusion of education in the Act, we can’t just put additional burden on the Commission without any new resources,” Greens Attorney General Spokesperson, Shane Rattenbury, said today.

“That’s why the Greens plan to establish an additional full-time officer in the HRC. This officer will assist with all tasks across the Commission.
