A quick reminder that the Gungahlin Environment Photo Competition closes in ONE WEEK, on Wednesday31 October. Entry is open to absolutely everyone, and the winning photos will be published in the beautiful 2008 Gungahlin Environment Calendar, which will be available for free in early December.

You also might like to vote in a poll that we are running about the cat containment rules for the new Gungahlin suburbs of Forde and Bonner, which are directly adjacent to Mulligans Flat and Goorooyarro Nature Reserves. Do you agree that cats should not be allowed to roam freely in these areas? Or is it cruel to force cats to stay inside all the time? Register your vote now!

Who says you have to force cats to stay indoors just to comply with these rules? Build a cat run! You cat will love you for it and so will all the leetle boirdies!

The best cats are flat ones.

Once dried in the sun they can used as place mats. Or frisbees.

I agree with locking away the cats. It’s a shame that due to a few irresponsible cat owners the govt had to introduce a law about this. I wonder how it will be policed though? Most cats aren’t microchipped and don’t have identifying tags/collars so how will they match up a roaming cat to it’s irresponsible owner? And who will do it?
