The ABC reports the ACT fire brigade has gotten $1.5 million of new aerial equipment (also not sure who wrote the web version of their story but it needs a darn good subedit).

This seems to be mainly a 44-metre high hydraulic platform, which Chief firefighter David Prince said means they can now reach the top of 15-storey buildings. Simon Corbell, who still hasn’t returned our interview, was on the news last night saying this equipment was necessary to be able to protect all those new apartment buildings springing up around Civic.

This is one of the few things our guvmint has spent our tax dollars sensibly on. This, and the GDE. Not much else.

But seeing creepy corbell on the news last night making into a posturing self centred media event, well, only reinforces everything said about him.

Give it time Les, they may have the truck, but they’ll have to save up for the petrol first.

Hardly fair on year 8 students Mr Evil. Year 1 maybe? It’s a shocker regardless of who wrote it.

I liked the final side note of the coverage on WIN News last night. “The new truck will be operational in around 12 months.”

Don’t start any fires on tall buildings in the meantime!

Did they get a Year 8 student to write that Press release for them???
