The Brumbies have announced that they’ve come to terms with their skipper Steven Hoiles to stay another two years to the end of 2012.

The 28-year-old has played 47 Investec Bank Super 14 matches for the CA Technologies Brumbies since joining the side from the Waratahs for the 2007 season. His career tally stands at 77 Super Rugby matches.

Hoiles says his preference was always to stay in Canberra with the CA Technologies Brumbies.

“To be honest, I didn’t want to play anywhere else,” he said. “I’ve really enjoyed my time in Canberra. This group has the potential to achieve a lot more than we did this season and I certainly want to do my part to ensure that we can realise that potential.

“Next year will essentially be the second year together as the current playing group. Everyone was left very frustrated at finishing one game out of the finals this year and we all know that we’re capable of more.

Here’s hoping!
