A certain type of very boring person will, at some great length, explain how “interesting” it is that female elite athletes don’t get caught in the same kind of trouble as male elite athletes.
So we should all give a small cheer for former Canberra Capital Janna Sladic who the Canberra Times reports has struck one back for the ladies:
Sladic was charged with burglary, trespass, possessing stolen property, escape from arrest or custody and driving while unlicensed.
She appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon, where she was expected to be sentenced by magistrate Peter Dingwall. Her lawyer indicated she was seeking residential rehabilitation and was on the waiting list for the support service Karralika.
But Sladic’s latest offences put her in breach of a good behaviour order that she was placed on in the ACT Supreme Court after robbing a Hawker KFC outlet at knifepoint in November 2011.
