I think this young girl is trying to get some attention!!! Please see the Canberra Times report.. If my boyfriend hit me, there is no way I would be hanging around his house for a few days (especially when they weren’t living together), than go and report it.. This is obviously a set up to get her name over the papers and to spark her modelling career, and to also ruin a young guys footy career… I am a female, and I see this as a joke!!! The media is trying to make it sound worse than what is actually is!

It is a real shame. Mainly for Joel Thompson, who may have just thrown away his promising career, but also for the club, which tries really hard to maintain a good image and gives a lot back to the community through charity days, guest appearances, etc.

The team is full of genuinely nice guys as well, like Alan Tongue and Terry Campese. Unfortunately, it’s the Todd Carneys that undo all the good work, and that people want to focus on.
