The K-Mart outlet inside Westfield Belconnen Mall has been evacuated as a precaution after an automatic fire alarm was activated.
ACT Fire & Rescue has confirmed the alarm was set off by leaking air conditioning coolant which is non toxic.
Firefighters are currently conducting atmospheric monitoring before allowing customers and staff back inside.
The rest of the mall is continuing to operate.
