A 36-year-old Kingston man has been charged with assault after alleged family arguments.

Court documents allege that on two separate occasions, Michael James McGoogan was involved in arguments with a woman that were reported to police.

Mr McGoogan was arrested on Friday morning (19 April), during which he allegedly did not comply with the officers’ requests.

He was charged with two counts of assault and one count of resisting a public official before he applied for bail in the ACT Magistrates Court.

No pleas were entered, conditional bail was granted, and the matter was adjourned to May.

Mr McGoogan is a co-CEO of Region, publisher of Riotact website.
