Latte Prices to go Up – Quelle Horror!!

By che - 13 April 2005 9

City News has this piece on the expected price rise fo outdoor cafes as the gubbmint introduces further charges on outdoor dining areas. They go around and interview lots of Civic cafe operators but what I found surprising was that they didn’t talk to Gus’ss.

As we should all know it was Gus that brought the outdoor cafe to Canberra back in the 60’s(?). He kept setting up his tables out on the footpath and the gubbmint kept fining him and telling them to get off the street but he kept doing it and people loved it. And thats why Canberra has outdoor cafes.

What’s Your opinion?

And good on Gus for doing it.

Che, why are you surprised that City News didn’t talk to Gus’s? Do you really think the rightest of right-wing free glossies is interested in talking to those bohemian lefties?
