Summer Diary dec 10 / jan 11 $10
Feeling the winter chill? Then maybe a poignant reminder of summer could take you back to the sundrenched warmth of shorts and skirts.
Tucked away in our fabulous zine section here at Smith’s is the last copy of Lucinda Eva May’s Summer Diary. It’s a candid, rambunctious capture of her and her friends over the summer of dec 2010 – jan 2011.
The photographs are framed perfectly and the most striking quality of this zine is Lucinda’s ability to tell you so much with just one simple image – nothing says summer adventures quite like a shot of a pair of almost naked legs in a bathroom wearing nothing but black socks and a nasty graze!
This zine perfectly captures the no holds barred sensation of being young, curious and out to have a damn good time. But it also displays Lucinda’s unique way of framing a shot and reveals her strength, intelligence and her incredible eye as she captures each moment.
Also stocked by a lovely store in Melbourne, this zine is one of our favourites for its fun, witty and insightful approach to capturing the nuances of everyday life.
Lucinda is a student at ANU, and has published this zine herself, so pop by and support local talent!
