Man found in critical condition at bottom of stairs, police seek information

Police are calling for information about the circumstances that led to a man ending up unconscious at the bottom of stairs at a north Canberra apartment block.

Officers and paramedics had been called to the Windeyer Court apartment complex on Knox Street in Watson at about 2 pm on Saturday (22 February), an ACT Policing spokesperson said.

There, they found a 56-year-old man unconscious at the bottom of a flight of stairs. He was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Police were unable to confirm the circumstances that led to the man becoming unconscious and established a crime scene.

On Monday (24 February), police said they were continuing to seek information relating to the incident.

Anyone who saw or heard activity in and around the Windeyer Court apartment complex prior to 2 pm on Saturday is urged to come forward.
