Man who escaped from adult mental health unit still at large

ACT Policing are searching for a 32-year-old man who managed to damage the window of the Adult Mental Health Unit at Canberra Hospital before escaping.

Jessie Gould had been referred to the hospital in Garran by a magistrate last week for a mental health assessment.

According to a police statement, Mr Gould absconded from the Adult Mental Health Unit at about 7 pm on Sunday (18 February) and was last seen heading towards Yamba Drive.

He was wearing black track pants with red stripes, a black hoodie and white shoes.

He has a slim build, short dark hair and a dark beard.

The community has been advised not to approach Mr Gould if they see him, but to call police immediately on 131 444.
