Waterford are one of my new favourites on the local music scene. A cross of Mountain Goats, Shins, and Elliot Smith with an extra dash of rock thrown in.

Anyway glenroiheights has posted video on YouTube with which you can form your own opinion. He left the following note:

Waterford offer another slice of awesome to the party people at the Phoenix on 30 March 2009 till a recalcitrant sound system overwhelms everything with a post-Thurston wash of whiny feedback crazy.

Sounds great, guys!

I eagerly await DMD’s and Kaliflower’s contribution to music.

Doesn’t earth have enough bands like this?

It’s good to see a band that, unlike all the other “bands like this”, still focuses on voice, lyrics and melody – rather than guitar noise and loud drums.

Pretty good- they’re playing at the Pot Belly this Saturday apparently…

Who’s Jack Waterford?

Editor-at-large of the Canberra Times. Regarded as a local institution by some, but not many in the constabulary.

No.

Just too many people like you.

Boo.

You just keep on trudging through life stamping on butterflies DMD.

I have to agree.

Personally, I’d find an oompa band doing covers of Toto’s album ‘IV’ to be 10000x more interesting.

Did they play at the Hippo Bar for Domus Adultus one time?

Yea, but they’re no threat to ‘The Feldons’ surely?

Nice – they make rockin’ look so damn easy too. Love it.
