Yesterday John Hargreaves opened two new/revamped playgrounds in Florey and Weetangara. Apparently they have lots of good features for the development of kiddies, and its great to see the govt spending money on kids, but how about putting more money into schools? I noticed last week that the recently closed Cook Primary has a pretty good playground on the grounds – I wonder what will happen to this?

Anyway, I’ll head over with the kidlets and check it out on the weekend (probably along with the rest of Belconnen).

Thanks Poptop

The new Weetangera playground is next to the preschool in Southwell St. Would not go out of my way to check it out. Two swings, a couple of spinny things and a bridge to nowhere. No slides or anything but a nice rubber crocodile and spider to jump over!

The ‘good’ playground in Kambah is the Adventure playground behind Urambi Primary and Kambah High.

It has different bits and there is a section for the littl’uns.

Cook hasn’t quite closed yet Kramer. The kids are still learning and the community is still fighting. You are however welcome to let the little ones have a run on the play equipment which as you say, is very good. You can also run/play in the open space while it still exists. The smart money is that the Government will have the whole place under town houses well before the next election. If the treatment of other closed schools is any guide, there should be some great equipment bargains to be had at the tip during the school holidays.

And where in Weetangara? And going back to a previous post about playgrounds, can anyone advise where the good one in Kambah is? For that matter, where’s good ones for kids around 18 months, preferably southside. My young’un is unstoppable at the moment. Love it!

But where in Florey?
