Florey Shops Playground
With a coffee van at the nearby shops, this enclosed playground is a cute option with swings for little ones looking to burn off energy.

George Simpson Playground
Just a five-minute walk away from Cafe Mame in Melba, this playground features sensory play, a range of climbing challenges and the cute ‘Fort Flynn’.

Hilltop Park
Overlooking the Brindabellas, this local neighbourhood playground is great for kids! With swings, rope walls, slides and more, it’s perfect for children three years and up. There are also picnic facilities if you’d like to make a morning of it.

John Knight Memorial Park
An idyllic spot on the shores of Lake Ginninderra, John Knight Memorial Park is popular with Canberra families and it’s common to see several generations picnicking together under the trees. The playground includes a treehouse, flying fox and play sculpture – and reptile lovers are in for a treat with the Snake House’s large timber climbing unit featuring a wave board and nest spinner, a climbing net, a shop counter with a snake theme, and voice tubes for children to speak to each other across the play area. There are also plenty of water birds to watch.

Lawson Central Community Playground
This brand-new park in Lawson is fun for everyone, including newly walking toddlers. It features an educational area for the threatened Golden Sun Moth, which lives in the grasslands.

This playground is in perfect proximity to both Ricardo’s Cafe, for either coffee or mouth-watering dessert, and the Jamison Shops, if you need to pick up groceries on the way home.

Paddys Park
With a whopping 2.7 hectares of space, Paddys Park is one that Canberrans of all ages will love for many years to come. A large playground is complemented by a range of informal play spaces as well as a multi-use sports court and fully enclosed cricket nets. There are also plenty of opportunities for relaxation and community connection with BBQ and picnic areas, an amphitheatre and a community event space.

Renny Place Neighbourhood Playground
With a slide, benches, sliding pole, new style ‘nest’ swing and plenty of grass nearby, the Renny Place Playground offers hours of fun. Just be aware there isn’t a shade sail, bins or toilets at this park.

Strathnairn Nature Play Park
A balance of the natural environment and a traditional play space, the Nature Play Park in Strathnairn is the perfect place to let the kids get a little dirty and interact with the world around them. The perfect place to let imaginations run wild, the park has been designed to let kids think outside the box and get hands-on with nature. From climbing nets and tunnels to plenty of logs and non-water stepping stones, this playground encourages unstructured play. There are trees for shade, car parking nearby and a bubbler.

Umbagong District Park
Umbagong District Park is surrounded by the suburbs of Latham, Holt, Higgins, Macgregor, Charnwood, and Flynn. It provides over 50 hectares of open space for recreation. Sitting within a wide grassy area in Latham, this older-style playground has covered play areas, slides and enclosed towers, similar to those at John Knight Park.
