Minister for Health, Simon Corbell, yesterday officially opened the new Woden Specialist Medical Centre, which will further enhance Canberra’s specialist and allied health care options.
“The new Woden Specialist Medical Centre brings together three leading organisations – orthopaedics ACT, National Capital Diagnostic Imaging and Flex Out Physiotherapy Canberra, all in one central and convenient location,” Mr Corbell said.
“I congratulate this collaboration for providing the community with access to Orthopaedic surgeons, diagnostic imaging and physiotherapy in Woden’s main shopping precinct, which has the added convenience of accessible parking and public transport options nearby for those who are less mobile.”
Orthopaedics ACT provides a full range of orthopaedic specialist services including hip, knee, hand, wrist and management of trauma.
National Capital Diagnostic Imaging offers a comprehensive range of medical imaging services from general X-Ray procedures, through to computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, mammography, bone mineral densitometry, interventional procedures, nuclear medicine and dental imaging.
Flex Out Physiotherapy Canberra prides itself on high-quality assessment and treatment of sports injuries, back and neck pain, post operative and rehabilitation services using manual therapy, emphasising the principals of early mobilisation, massage, strengthening and stretching.
“I would like to express my appreciation to all three organisations for their commitment to medical and allied health services within the ACT, and I look forward to continuing to work with the private sector to meet the needs of the ACT population,” Mr Corbell concluded.
