Hi All,

My wife and I are looking at purchasing one of the new townhouses in Crace. I have recieved quite a lot of information from “Crace” themselves, however I am interested in whether anyone knows anything about ‘PBS Property Group’, the developers of the townhouses in Crace.

Has anyone heard and good, or bad stories about the company?

It looks as though they have been responsible for homes in Forde and in Hervey Bay Quarterdecks Harbour Retreat. We are especially keen to find out about thier timeframes, and whether the quality of thier worksmanship lives up to the display homes expectations.

Keen to find out more if anyone knows any goss about the company, and if any of you out there are currently purchasing properties in Crace during the first release, I’d love to hear your experiences.

Cheers…

That’s a bit unfair. You can get crap workmanship regardless, using Canberra tradies. I’ve used tradies on several recent projects, and you have to watch them like a hawk.

Crappy little blocks, cheap housing, miles from the city. You do the math.

Think outside the box, and find a better property in an older area and spend a few bucks renovating. You’ll get a much better result.

We’ve heard the same about Crace, and we don;t even live anywhere near there.

PBS built Monarch in Turner in which I purchased off the plan and turned out to be a great development, quality inclusions, and completed ahead of schedule.

No matter what you’ll hear bad stories of any medium to large builder, but I was previously involved in the property game for a few years, and i would say that PBS is definately one of the better ones out there

Mate, if you have any suspicions I would hold off buying something off the plan. If there are issues you are basically stuck with it with next to no recourse against the builder and with no choice but to disclose the faults to anyone you try and sell it on to.

If you have your heart set on Crace you could try contacting the Owners’ Corporation Network (Website here) which is a group of Owners Corporations (ie body corporates) which was formed inter alia to take action in relation to building defects. They should be able to tell you whether any multi-unit developments by PBS Building have serious building defects.

PBS – I wouldn’t buy anything built by them. Which is why I’ve not bought into Crace. Sorry thebuke.

Word from the wise – Don’t touch anything in Crace. Dodgy brothers central. Try Harrison or Forde, more trustworthy developers involved.

I can’t provide any decent feedback about PBS, they seem to have their hands in development pies all over Canberra and wider Australia too. Timeframe for a terrace at Crace is about 14 months or so (check with the sales people as I inqured a while ago).

People from the first release (april last year) are going to be able to move in shortly I have heard.

They built Elan in Lyneham. Every mistake imaginable. Problems with flooding and drainage and a very poor rushed finish. Slow to respond to warranty claims. Avoid!
