People have been evacuated from the Emu Bank area in Belconnen at the northern end of Eastern Valley Way near Cameron Ave as emergency services respond to a gas leak.
An Emergency Services Agency spokesperson said ACT Fire and Rescue and ACT Policing are on the scene.
“The surrounding areas have been evacuated as a precaution whilst the leak is investigated,” the spokesperson said.
“The northern end of Eastern Valley Way will be closed for some time and the community is asked to avoid the area.”
