A large area of the Mulligans Flat Reserve will be the focus of a police search this weekend as part of the investigation into a long-term missing person case.

ACT Policing and ACT State Emergency Services (SES) members will take part in the search on Saturday and Sunday (13 and 14 August), with more than 50 people expected to be involved on both days from 7 am to 5 pm.

The search will cover the nature reserve between Bonner and the NSW border.

It’s part of the investigation into the 2017 disappearance of Jean Vincent Policarpio, who is one of the ACT’s 15 long-term missing persons cases.

Jean, also known as Vince, has not been seen since leaving his family home in Bonner on 26 September, 2017, when he was 21-years-old.

He was described as being of Asian appearance, 165 cm (5’5″) tall, with black hair and a slim build at the time of his disappearance.

Police said the search would be a “concentrated effort” to find “fresh evidence” after the case was re-examined.

Mulligans Flat has previously been searched in an effort to find out what happened to Jean.

He was known to visit the Golden Sun Moth Walking Trail in Mulligans Flat and Chicken Gourmet in Bonner.

Jean’s family was aware the search would be taking place.
