The late season flurry appears to have kicked in for the Raiders with Foxsports reporting a big home win:

Canberra centre Blake Ferguson has starred again for the Raiders, bagging a hat-trick of tries to help his NRL side thump Newcastle 44-14 in their NRL clash at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.

In typical Raiders fashion, they overcame an early 14-0 deficit to romp home with 44 unanswered points and post their eighth consecutive home win.

Ferguson backed up last week’s match-winning efforts against premiers Melbourne with another slick performance that should attract the interest of NSW State of Origin selectors.

The Raiders created havoc down the right edge, with Sandor Earl also snaring three tries.

I notice there is no report of my triumphant win at the mothers day kicking comp at half time.

for shame.

I will be really happy if Blake Ferguson stays on track and continues to perform well. After the Carney and Dugan debacles, we could all do with a positive outcome with the Raiders for a young player who was making a bit of a dick of himself. Good on you, Blake.

If Dugan goes on to play very well somewhere else I think you might have to blame Raiders club culture on the mangling of those player losses. It seems that Furner is running a pretty crappy ship, but there is enough support for him so that he is not canned.

News out of Cooma? Sammy is leaving. Don’t pencil it in, carve it in stone.

Typical turn out and most of the Raiders fans were filing out before the siren blew (as always – it must be terrible having to wait in a traffic jam for 2 minutes when you try to leave the car park and drive 10 minutes home).

It’s not just Raiders fans that do this; I’ve seen “passionate long-term supporters” (their words) leave the Brumbies with 5 minutes to go. Why? They want to beat the traffic.

Late season flurry? As in it’s late in the season of Autumn? Or as in late in the Footy season (which it’s not)?
