Raiders turn on the razzle dazzle to crush St George

By johnboy 3 April 2005 3

The Canberra Times has happier news on the subject of the Raiders.

A record breaking 42-22 win to take them to the top of the table.

Lets hope this isn’t another false dawn, at least they’re playing an attractive brand of football now.

Yeh…they way they are playing at the moment ALMOST makes league bearable to watch. At one point…they actually passed the ball a few times….it was almost like actual Rugby for a bit….not bad at all. Hope they keep it up. The Raiders of old were known for their expansive play…& the last few years they’ve be SO boring.

I agree that their brand of football is far more attractive now.

They finally have a set of dynamic halves who control the game.

Fingers crossed. So far the Raiders have been beating other supposed wooden spoon contenders. Next weeks game against the Rooters will be the big test for them.

A crowd of almost 16 000 last night, which was about 2000 more than that for the gAyFL at Manuka Oval. Quite a few dragons supporters seemed to have come out of the woodwork for last night’s game as well.
