We’re proud to announce that following Norvan Vogt’s starting round last week our next contestant has committed to the RiotACT Sim Challenge Canberra.
The Democrats’ Greg Tannahill has confirmed that he’ll take on the challenges of city building SimCity4 style in O’Connor’s All Bar Nun on Wednesday 13 August.
It’s starting at a more work-friendly 7pm so come on down, have a beer, watch a real life political candidate show off his priorities, and tell me about everything I’m doing wrong.

UPDATE: Just to remind everyone this is on tonight. I’ll be there wearing my RiotACT Pin so feel free to come up, say hi, and possibly buy me a pint. We’ll also be awarding Thumper his premium membership (and pin) for his tireless work for the site while I was away. Presentation to be made in front of the Todd Carney memorial toilets in a blaze of publicity.
LOL “Candidates – are you ready?”

And not being a computer game player, I inferred ‘Riot Mech’ to mean: have the candidates fight it out against each other as they attempt to service your car.
Yeah was good to have a yarn with the usual faces – pity I could not stay longer but I was digesting my own stomach I was so hungry – and had a hot feed in the oven at home.
You’ll probably see me at the next one too
“will the Riot-Merch be available at this one?”
I read that as Riot-Mech, and thought yeah – that would beat Sim City – have the candidates fight it out against each other on Mech Warriors.
(He says showing how long since he’s had time to play a computer game…)
Good night and Gregg took the whole thing with good grace.
All kudos to him.
I’d like to see the Dems back as a real force once again.
Nice to meet those of you there tonight. Sorry I was in and out, but it was a long day.
Definitely in for the next one, and more power to the RiotACT Collective in general for services to community building! d:D
Sorry; wrong collective noun. It is, of course, a cushion of pin-wearers.
Nice work, Jazz anb JB on another good night. Greg certainly seemed to know what he was doing, though since I’d have trouble picking ‘Sim City 4’ from a flight simulator out of a line-up, I’ll let others dissect the details. And well-attended; a veritable forest of Riot-ACT pin-heads, I mean, pin-wearers.
Guys I really wanted to go tonight (also had an invite to Pecha Kucha darn it), but my baorder needed a lift from the airport and the I was too tired. I promise I shall show my scootergal face next time.
Just watch where you’re going… I heard you can get whiplash from running into JB!
Bugger, I gotta run to the shops for some milk and smokes, I don’t want to run into you bastards!
hmmm… awww i dunno
They’ll all be loners and keen for someone to talk to, plus you’ll have a pin!
Worst comes to worse you can down pints and ogle the lovelys.
So who is going?
Cause I know if I go I’m just gonna be a loner and know no body

just thought it would be a good place to write it down if the ABN party goes a while…
my memory isn’t that good after several jars…
Bar coasters are extra.
As for the majors we do have some already scheduled for September.

is that written on a bar coaster?
I’ve got something on tonight but I really want to get to one of these. They look like a bit of fun.
I wonder who (if any) from the majors will step up first.
Hmmm …. Still don’t know about showing my face!

In reply:
The ACT Democrats intend to re-register after the election. Hopefully with a couple of new MLA’s elected as well, to Keep the Bastards Honest!
