Save The Ridge lose – again. Return to the barricades?

By johnboy - 16 September 2005 8

ABC Online are reporting that, despite all the damn trees being knocked down last year, the court battles over the Gungahlin Drive Extension would appear to be over.

Then again, we’ve all thought that before.

What’s Your opinion?

It will be interesting to see what part of the Constitution they will try and waste the High Court’s time with.

you have to wonder about their motivation.

i would also be curious to know how many people STR actually represent.

Maybe if the ACT Govt. had handled this whole issue a lot better from the beginning, then STR would not have been able to drag this process out for so long. Simon Corbell and Co have a few things to answer for I would suggest!

Unless of course the High Court decides there’s a new point of law to be examined in the case.

In which case the Federales will pick up the legal bills to thrash it out.

Yes, but a high court challenge is going to require a lot more fund raising than what they have just gone through… hopefully they have more sense than money.

Wait for it – they can still theoretically mount a High Court challenge. Start praying to your relevent deity that they don’t.

Hooray, sense appears to have prevailed.

Now, lets send STR a bill for $16 Million dollars to cover the government’s expenses in dealing with their numerous annoyances.

About bloody time this was sorted out….
The next battle is to get the road built as dual carriageway!
