menace to society

You’d think they’d learn. You’d think with all the outrage over their disregard for the rule of law and common decency Canberra’s cyclists would show more regard for their fellow human beings.

But no! They’re incorrigible!

Citizens of Canberra! They are mocking us!

Illegal parking on a nature strip, me thinks 🙂

I think I’ll hit my street tonight to photograph all the motor vehicles that are illegally parked on footpaths and nature strips… their owners apparently more concerned about their car not being hit by a fast moving vehicle (who’s operator is able to to operate it at fast speeds thanks to no parked cars being on the road… irony?), than allowing clear footpath access for a wheelchair bound person.

Well, I appreciated the obvious intended humour from JB.

I assert that the bike was legally parked, the sign probably doesn’t apply seeing as the bike is not parked on the road. Also the photo was probably taken after 6pm or before 7am, when the sign doesn’t apply.

Parking is allowed there as it’s not one of those gay recumbent things – although it is a very girly bike.

I bet I could triple the ENTIRETY of the ACT’s Budget with the potential revenue of people illegally parked on my street alone!!

It’s either a womans, or an elderly gents bike.

That said, I don’t think either party would be aware of applicable laws/legislation pertaining to their mode of transport. They never are.

Fish for dinner tonight, JB? Looks like you caught some really thick ones.

Cut the bike in half and remove the rear half, and there should be no problem.

Where else are they meant to leave it if they need to go someplace nearby? lock it to that tree in the background? it’s hardly blocking any paths or roads or anything really, and I’m sure damage to the nature strip is minimal, if people are going to get upset about this they should take a look at the reserve near my house where tradesman’s trucks have worn a road of sand the entire length and sand is now starting to pile up all over the footpaths.

Some people are taking this post- an obvious attempt at humour – way too seriously.
