A blind man would have noticed the smoke hovering over canberra the past few days but since mid morning today it seems to have become particularly heavy. I cant say that i’d noticed a change in wind direction sending all the victorian smoke up here so does anyone know where it is coming from?

Kind of ironic that you cant smoke in outside now. everyone is passive smoking today, of a sort.

[update : its apparently coming from a fire near tumut.]

The smoke blanketing the ACT is a direct result of years of forcing cigarette smokers outside. It’s built up in the atmosphere and come back to bite us on the arse. Now who’s laughing? HA HA HA ha hack HACK cough cough cough.

Now there’s smoke inside the bloody house and I can’t breath.
No, it’s not due to my cooking! :p

666 is blaming tumut with no ACT fires known.

bear in mind there’s a thunderstorm building above the clouds

stupid not working tag… bah

The Tumut fire is the only fire that has been spoken of on 666, as far as i’ve heard.

Tumut was yesterday, together with one at Palmerston.
Today apparently it is coming from Michelago. And I guess the smoke from the Victorian fires shouldn’t be far behind it with the southerly change…

Tumut.

Christ this is an arsehole of a place in summer.
