Are you (or do you know someone) under 25, creative, and would do some really cool stuff if you (they) could just afford to?

Here. This is for you (or them):

The first application round of the Creative Young Stars Program opened on Saturday 1 June 2013! Applications close at 5pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on Friday 21 June 2013.
The Creative Young Stars Program will encourage, support and celebrate creative, cultural, academic and community achievement throughout Australia by students and young people.

The Program will assist school students, and where appropriate their families, and post-school young people (25 years and under) requiring financial assistance to participate in activities, events or training in the following categories: creative and performing arts, cultural activities, academic endeavour, and school and community achievement.

The $8 million Creative Young Stars Program was announced on 13 March 2013 in the National Cultural Policy Creative Australia.

The Office for the Arts and the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) will work together to facilitate the delivery of this Program. DEEWR will administer the initiative.
Funding

The Australian Government has allocated $8 million to the Creative Young Stars Program. Grants of $500 are available for successful individual applicants and $3000 for successful group applications.
Each electorate will have 23 grants of $500 for individuals and four grants of $3000 for groups each financial year over two application rounds. In Round 1, MPs can award up to 12 individual and two group grants in their electorate.
