Territory and Municipal Services are actively encouraging you to get out fishing on our lakes and rivers:

ACT residents are encouraged to make use of the many great fishing spots in the region, including Uriarra Loop Track, Black Mountain Peninsula, Dairy Flat, the trout waters below Bendora Dam and in Googong Reservoir.

Why is TAMS encouraging fishing in N.S.W? Googong might be a nice spot to catch fish but it is only open between 8 AM and 7 PM. The best time to go fishing is on sunrise and sunset, if not during night time. You don’t catch a lot during their open hours and note they are also closed during total fire bans too.

I have been terrifying people in New Zealand with that image.

Think TAMS could actively encourage fishers to not trash the environment so thoroughly? Last week at Casuarina Sands I got entangled in a line in the water, picked up several cans and bottles and left the three rotting carp on the river bank.
