Too much light is a bad thing. Cycling along in the dark and actually being able to see things in time to avoid them defeats the purpose of doing it.

I feel like a photo geek – canberra needs more – that like subterranean and nocturnal photography.

If you want some really awesome shots of canberra, about 4am in the middle of winter is the time to do it. Jump on the bike and go bush. Being alone in the dark where everything is coated in ice and reflects back off your petzl is pretty breathtaking. Unfortutaely don’t have shots as my camera won’t focus in nonlight, plus at such times I’m usually in hurry to get to the good killing ferals spots. I have a few from later in the day, but they’re rather dull.

An excellent photographic view of Canberra is up the top of Bungendore Road leading out of QBN.

You are up pretty high and early morning shots with Telstra Tower rising above mists, occasional snow capped mountain, or late afternoon isn’t too bad.

Canberra is just photogenic – so much so I want a D70 implanted on my hand for those times I see something magic and dont have one.

Much closer spots than that…. I know places in the ACT you can go wet a line and not see a soul all day.

Stupid arses would love to know that the liscence to use one of my photos could score them a whole weekend of drinking their bevvy of choice. Kind of teh exact reason why I only get plastered at mine or a mates nowdays – too many dickheads. Feel much safer isolated at lake george or bloody corin dam or somewere like that than in the city. Sad really.

Saw a really profound sight driving up Drakeford drive early sunday – total mist and then hot air balloons fading into the foreground. Quite surreal.
Canberra has everything. If you get bored in Canberra, you’re a total lackwit.
