Endeavour over Canberra

John Lafferty has sent in this poignant shot taken just outside of Canberra at The Angle with this note:

The space shuttle Endeavour is on its last flight and currently docked with the ISS. Due to the cloud arriving early Sunday morning this is most likely the last time we will see this shuttle. This is also the second last flight of any shuttle. Sad to see them go.

From a macro-historical point of view it’s worth noting this is also the end of American crewed space flight. Something to think back to when we watch chinese boots land on Mars in the future.

FFS Johnboy, get off your elitist Westerns high horse. If anyone sets foot on Mars, they will be a human being irrespective of which country they took off from.

Gotta agree with that. Nationalism is ugly.

nice pic, john – ty

😀 Great shot, John!

Nice photo by the way. 5.24 Tuesday night for another good viewing if it’s clear.
It’s also worth seeing them after they separate so you’ll get two bright stars right next to each other travelling across the sky.

You haven’t been around here long have you??

Still, I’m sure the Americans will have something to say about those ‘commie’ boots on the moon and the space race will be back on within about a decade.

Actually that’s kind of what I’m getting at. But you’ve completely forgotten the reptoids… excellent…
