After their packed-out shows in The Majestic at The National Folk Festival, Canberrans Julia and the Deep Sea Sirens will be supporting The Little Stevies and Gossling at The ANU Bar on Thursday May 5. JDSS have recently been heralded by The Canberra Times and The Canberra Weekly as the ‘Fresh Faces of Folk’. They spent band rehearsal making new f-word related mottos for themselves, feel free to share your ideas with them at the gig 🙂
The Little Stevies have upped the ante – and the volume – with their newest offering, ‘Attention Shoppers’. The new album is a break away for the more laid-back, folk-influenced style of their first, and takes the band’s sound into a poppier, slicker and harder-edged territory.
Joining The Little Stevies on stage will be one of Australia’s most exciting emerging artists. After being discovered through Triple J’s Unearthed website in 2010, Helen Croome, a.k.a. Gossling has been impressing audiences all over as an opening act for the likes of The Whitlams, Lamb and Whitley, as well as her own sell out shows up the east coast.
Tickets through Ticketek or at the door – $14
