Hello, fellow Canberrans, and welcome to another Gig Guide brought to you by The RiotACT for the 8th to the 14th of June! We have a couple of local returns to the scene, including The Wrst (pictured) launching a new album this Saturday at the Phoenix, and Kid of Harith as well, at Smith’s Alternative, who I could have sworn had gone into hiding. The latter will have quite a resurrection ceremony, playing with local folk legend Guyy and the phenomenal Happy Axe – if you have not seen Happy Axe live, do yourself a favour! Another gig which won’t escape anyone’s notice is Peter Combe, gearing up to tear down the ANU Bar with party bangers like “Newspaper Mama”, with a little help from local muso Georgia Davis opening the show. May I also say, a double bill with CJ Bowerbird and Luke McGrath, who is no doubt going to be the stuff of Canberran legend. Anyway, there’s plenty here to sort out your weekend – and please, if we’ve missed anything don’t hesitate to leave a message below!
