Welcome to the RiotACT Gig Guide for the 9th to the 15th of August!

The Gig Guide photo this week is by fellow LocalNLive presenter, DJ Loz, of Happy Axe, who will be performing alongside TEEM, Selki and DYP a.k.a. Mick Dagger at the Phoenix this Saturday. The Phoenix will also be hosting a huge show on Friday, as Destrends, Moaning Lisa and House of Strangers take to the stage in what promises to be a sensational night!

Sally Chicane will be launching their new single ‘Wanna Be A Tradie’ at the Basement on Saturday, with opening acts Signs & Symbols and Blissphorus. Another big launch will be Click Cult’s release of a new CD at Transit Bar, who will be playing along with Sermen & Garfudgel, Adventure Sunday and Boots Byers.

Also, DJ Nebe’s LocalNLive Bootlegs is on this Monday at the Phoenix! The killer line-up of Pleased To Jive You, The Kingstons, GhostNoises and Scarecrow. Beat the winter cold and get to it!

On Thursday, acclaimed jazz outfit Way Out West will be performing at Ainslie Arts Centre. Speaking of which, check out this SubjectACT interview with Adelaide Rief, creative producer at Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centre, as she gives the rundown on what events the venue will be having on for Season Two. And have a good one!
