ACT Policing has arrested three people believed to be responsible for a range of property crime offences including burglaries, thefts from vehicles, car thefts, and shoplifting across the ACT in the last couple of months.

Early Saturday morning (18 August), police were patrolling in Symonston when they observed a man and a woman inside a stolen motor vehicle. The pair tried to evade apprehension, but they and another man were arrested.

Later that day, police executed a search warrant at a linked residence, where they seized a large amount of suspected stolen property including high-end power tools, handbags, clothing, other retail goods, illicit drugs and a sum of cash.

On Sunday night (19 August), police also seized a large amount of suspected stolen tools from an address in Narrabundah which was directly linked to the property seized on Saturday.

The offenders will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (20 August) and police will oppose bail on two of the three offenders.

Police are urging anyone who meets the criteria below, to contact police on 131444 for the possible return of their tools:

  • Members of the public who have previously reported stolen tools between May 2018 and 19 August 2018 to ACT Policing;
  • Have an existing job number/report number; and
  • Have serial numbers for their stolen tools or unique identifying marks.
