Time to learn how to actually be a comedian

By johnboy - 18 July 2009 22

Many RiotACT commenters think they’re hilarious.

Fortunately Canberra comedian Jay Sullivan is going to help.

From the event page:

Always wanted to be the next Tom Gibson or Daniel Connell?

Well call (02) 6293 1443 and enrol in The Comedy Tutorials at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre!

We’ll get together every Monday Night for 4 weeks, then put on a performance on Friday 11th September.

This is the perfect way to start – I’ll cover off the basics, show you some cool clips of the World’s Best, give you some resources – but the best thing the classes provide is the opportunity to sit and write and think about comedy for an hour a week in the lead up to a show.

It’s $40 bucks for the classes, and the performance. This is going to be very cool. All welcome.

It kicks off on 17 August at 7pm.

What’s Your opinion?

Dan took out the Canberra heat last week so he’s through to the final in a month or so.
If anyone is interested join the face book group Stand up comedy in the ACT.

Jay Sullivan, Dan Connell, Tom Gibson, Emo Parsonson, Herbie ant the coleslaws, Kale Bogdanovs are all good value. I’d recommend seeing them.
