TransACT give basic packages a speedbump

TransACT’s big problem is that its lines are strung from telegraph poles and these don’t exist in the new suburbs where everything is underground. Not sure how they plan to get around this.

Note: if you are an existing customer you have to ASK for the faster speed and sign up for 12 months – if you don’t you’ll remain on the old slow speeds.

1mpbs is still very slow for broadband, but at least it’s a start. Interestingly, webone also advised its TransACT customers this week it was giving them free download upgrades – competition is starting to pay off it seems.

Of course they paid citynews! All its ‘stories’ are advertorials!

Pay to run the ‘story’?! I assume you have to pay for any ‘advertisment’ you place in city news. I guess they discovered some extra cash since they started producing ads inhouse.

Telstra are about as helpful as a mousetrap ina condom.

The issue is more Telstra’s monopoly over the cable network in the outer/newer suburbs that is preventing TransAct from expanding.

Assuming they didn’t pay CityNews to run the story…

1500k is the standard package?

I’m sure that City News have some kind of decent journalism, but this isn’t an example of it.
To the same extent, TransAct should be pleased that they got their words in print…

…and I get 1500k on my telstra phone line.
