Trying to find a bottle of Mastika in canberra

Well It’s time to go shopping for drinks for new years (a bit late I know) and I was hoping to find some of this wonderful mastic flavored Greek liquor called Mastica.

I don’t suppose anyone would have a clue as to where to find it, a European grocery perhaps?

Do we have any specialist bottle-shops in Canberra?

Oaks Estate groggery is legendary. An amazing and very dusty collection of weird euro plonks and spirits, hidden in the shelves made of offcuts in mission brown on besa blocks. And if you’re lucky you’ll observe the locals in there, buying strange things and/or saying strange things. Well worth a visit.

Our local bottlo has recommended going to the place in Oaks Estate for slightly out of the ordinary liqueurs and spirits.

Now everyone keeps mentioning this bottle shop. (In this context, everyone means at least two people.) This has given me the idea for the world’s easiest New Year’s resolution. I will check out the Oaks Estate bottle shop in 2013.

Are we having a real resolution thread? Some of us have had too much gin to start one ourselves.

That tiny little shop on the corner near the border bridge? that doesn’t look like it stocks much of anything.
Damn it Poetix, now you have put the thought of two G&T’s with a beer chaser into my head.

It’s not the tiny little shop on the corner but the big tin shed 50 metres up the road. Massive variety of grog to choose from. I have been a regular since 1996.

Fair ‘Nuff.

Try the liquor store in Braddon next to Lonsdale street Roasters, they’ve got a pretty good selection of international stuff
