Tuggeranong United FC will host Melbourne Victory FC in the Round 16 match of the 2014 Westfield FFA Cup knock-out competition. Vikings Park, Erindale is the confirmed venue.

The match date will be either September 16th or 23rd on Monday 25 August.

“We are overjoyed to be playing Melbourne Victory”, said a delighted coach Steve Forshaw.

“They are one of the most successful clubs in A-League history and have some of Australia’s best players.

“We will ramp up our training and preparation. We expect to make it as difficult as possible for them to play here at home”, said Steve.

“It’s a red-letter day for Tuggeranong United. This match is one of the best things to happen to Canberra football”, said Steve.

The match will feature the return of new Melbourne Victory FC recruit and Socceroo, Carl Valeri, to his home city of Canberra against the club where he played much of his junior football.

cheap as chips. c’mon canberra; if we want an a-league side of our own we have to be seen supporting the game at this grass roots level, even if it does mean suffering through a melbourne victory game 🙂

Great news!

What’s the capacity of Vikings Park? It’s going to get tested, I think!

UPDATE – The FFA have announced that Tuggeranong United vs Melbourne Victory will be held on Tues 16 Sept and be broadcast live on Fox Sports. Kickoff will be 7:30pm at Viking Park, Wanniassa.
Ticketing arrangements will be announced as soon as possible.

Awesome news! Bring it Victory. Let’s fill the place. The top money is on Wollongong or Canberra for the next A-League team and they got 5000+ to their FFA Cup match last week. We can do better!
