Here’s an interesting one that’s come across my desk for later in the week:

Girl Talk Productions presents two short plays, Classic Claustrophobia & sequel The Copy Room, at Belconnen Theatre – Thursday July 23 to Saturday July 24 – our shows only. Both plays are written by local Playwright, Jenny Rixon, and performed by an experienced and talented cast and crew. Performed separately in 2006 & 2008 to sell-out crowds at Vivaldi’s Theatre Restaurant, Girl Talk now presents them together to complete the story.

Classic Claustrophobia – an elevator has jammed whilst descending to the ground floor of an advertising agency. It’s three female occupants find themselves trapped for over 2 hours and, as women naturally do, they discuss each other’s lives. Their paths cross and skeletons come out of the closet. Fatefully linked through association, they discover the power they hold to free themselves.

The Copy Room – a sequel to Classic Claustrophobia, The Copy Room is set in a photocopy room within the offices of the same busy advertising agency, portraying the activities on the last day of work before Christmas. Staff finalise jobs for the year and prepare for the work Christmas party that evening. Work relationships are discussed, formed and fall apart as each character reveals their true intentions for work and play. Alcohol and the festive celebrations fuel emotions during the Christmas party and the small quiet photocopy room provides an escape. Jealousy, drunken debauchery and Santa’s identity all provide quite a stir.

Tickets: $25 or $20 concession (available at the door or for Group Bookings phone Jenny on 0428 630 811)
Where: Belconnen Community Theatre, Swanson St., Belconnen
